CEREC® Same-Day Technology

CERECⓇ

At Golden Family Dentistry, we are constantly striving to remain at the forefront of the latest cutting edge technology in dentistry. Our state-of-the-art facilities are outfitted with high-tech machines and tools that contribute to improved patient care and more pleasant experiences overall in our Crosby, TX clinic.

We are currently using CERECⓇ technology. CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. This technology allows us to provide highly customized dental restorations in a single visit to our Crosby, TX office.

What Is CEREC?

CEREC is a system that incorporates the use of digital imagery into dental restorations. With computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing, CEREC uses CAD/CAM technology to craft precisely fitting dental restorations in no time at all.

Before CEREC, your dental restorations involved having several impressions or molds made in the dentist’s office, which are then sent off to our offsite lab. At the lab, your restorations are crafted by technicians and then sent back to our clinic. Of course, this means that your restorative procedure is divided up into at least two appointments, if not more. With CEREC your restorative procedure is completed in just one visit.

Your dentist scans the area with the CEREC tool, which captures a digital impression. The digital impression is used to create a digital design of your restoration, which is crafted in our office on demand. Your restoration is typically crafted from ceramic, a durable, strong, and realistic-looking restoration option.

Then, the restoration is thoroughly polished and prepared for bonding with your tooth, which is done right away.

How CEREC Benefits Our Crosby, TX Area Patients

CEREC is such a convenient option for dental restorations because your restorative procedure can be done in just one appointment. This also means that you will not need to deal with the inconvenience of having a temporary restoration fitted.

CEREC also crafts restorations from a solid block of ceramic, which creates a much stronger restoration, as opposed to laboratory-crafted restorations that are made from pressed metals and ceramic.

For all of your restorative dentistry needs, you can rely on our expert team at Golden Family Dentistry. Call us today to schedule your appointment.
